Starring the talented mr. Matt Damon, whom you probably already know from any number of movies now. Is it who or whom? “Sometimes it’s who!” 🙂 Anyway, i just recently saw him in Good Will Hunting, which is a movie you shouldn’t miss, if you want to consider the imdb ratings (8.3), which put it on a higher ranking position than this one (7.3).

The cast includes the charming mr. Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow. Both good choices for this movie, i think. Her i will always remember for the role she had in Great Expectations, where i thought she was just wonderful. If you didn’t see that one yet, i think you should. It’s a classic, although the imdb ratings don’t recommend it that well (only a 6.8). You can also read the book, if you don’t think the movie is that good.

Anyway, back to mr. Ripley… All in all, i would say it’s an interesting movie. It covers some big themes like love and lies and delusions…. Anyway, i don’t want to spoil it for you, so i won’t give up too much of it. Throughout the movie you see yourself rooting for the bad guy…or in our case the crazy guy. In the end you can’t help but feel sorry for him, and being happy you are not him. On the other hand, you can also see a very good example of true love and what it feels like to really love and know somebody, even if all the others don’t understand. Jude Law was also very good in his role, making you think he actually ruled the world and everybody could not help but do whatever he wanted, because he was the center of the universe…

I want to leave you with a very good quote from the movie: “I always thought it would be better to be a fake somebody than a real nobody”. If this doesn’t make you a bit curious to see the movie, then.. . i’m out of ideas. Enjoy!
